HalloweenTownSora:Pumpkin Mask

I didn't put this down in costume because it's not really, it's only a piece of it. Nevertheless I wanted to post it.

Both *Mizuenzeru and I made Halloween Town Sora's mask to wear out to the Nightmare Before Christmas 3D showing tonight. Unfortunately due to a couple of circumstances (mainly rain and classes running longer than expected), we only just arrived at the theater on time and weren't able to wear them. But I think I'll don it on Halloween since I've made no costume what with me having no time/life/sleep. It's crafted from cereal boxes, paper towels, watercolors, gauche, ink, bristol, and string. It took me a good couple of hours to make, but if it isn't the cutest damned thing. Makes me really wanna cosplay Halloween Town Sora now. Too many cosplays, so little time.

It's hard to tell, but it's textured from the paper towels glued on, like paper mache. You can sorta see in the bottom left corner picture. I wanted to get that Burton-esque style and texture. Also, in the artwork of Sora you can see it looks like it would be textured. It just looks flat in the photos unfortunately.

Oh, and if you have not yet seen the rerelease of the Nightmare Before Christmas, please do. Not only is it an amazing movie in general, but since it *is* a 3D medium (claymation) in the first place, it's extremely well suited to be viewed in 3D. It's incredible and I still got goosebumps and chills during numerous parts of the film. God, it was an amazing experience.
