~skei had jokingly suggested long ago that I cosplay as Finland, before I even liked Hetalia (and I wouldn't for months and months). However, he ended up being the type of character that I tend to like and thus, tend to cosplay. His uniform was fun to make and I loved the color. As much slack as Hetalia gets, I genuinely had a lot of fun cosplaying as Finland.

I did a lot of research into Finnish military uniforms in order to have a balance between accuracy to Himaruya's drawings and historical accuracy. The rosettes on the collar and the buttons on the uniform are both from Finland (the rosettes are authentic, the buttons are plastic replicas with the Finnish emblem on them).

I really can't say I'm a very big fan of Hetalia in general, but I do adore the crisp lines and tailoring in your uniform! It just looks so nice and clean 8D Kudos on the research and sourcing too!

I don't expect everyone to be. But it does make me feel proud hearing your nice compliments for the construction on my costume. I really aimed to make something that would be more than just your typical Hetalia cosplay.

Finland is one of my top three favorites. He's a really cute character and I like him a lot. Hanatamago really tops it off though, he steals the glory, hahaha.

Are you? That's really interesting. I like hearing of fans who are fans of the countries as they are represented in Hetalia, even if the way they are represented is pretty silly sometimes.

Yeah, in here, you can hear many opinions about Tino. Too many people hate him just because he's "wimp" and does not represent the thing being a "real" Finn.

But, in other hand. Everyone has heard rumors that in Finland we drink a lot. And that is true, but I wouldn't like to see my country like that in any anime. That would just be embarrasing.
Like, Tino always drunk? -not really attractive, don't you think?

I like how Himaruya has created the character. Tino is not based on rumors or stereotypes, but his own vision of Finland, and I think he has succeed pretty well.

I don't care about haters, who diss the show just because they don't have imagination or sense of humor at all. I like Tino and I think he's perfect as Finland ^^

The lighting and setting here is really pretty! And in general, you know how much I love military uniforms! You guys did such a good job tailoring them to look like the real deal! C:

Forgive my ignorance, but is the country cosplay thing based on a manga or something? I keep seeing stuff about it but can't seem to find a source. *hides behind Death Note, prepared to slay anyone who mocks too harshly*

It's from a webcomic/anime series called Axis Powers Hetalia. Character in the show are anthropomorphic representations of various different countries and nations. It's a gag series and is really silly. But it's good cool costumes and is occasionally pretty amusing.
